Here are two websites that are gathering information about Palin’s other ethical question - whether she is telling the truth about who are Trig Palin’s parents:

RE: 12th paragraph, 2nd sentence, "Palin said she agreed with Cheney's theory [etc.]", and
Entire 15th paragraph, "This scandal should show that Palin did mean it [etc.] ... exactly what she thinks of the rule of law."

Thank you for emphasizing Palin's essentially power-hungry, extralegal approach to government.

People underestimate how dangerous Palin would be for limited government if she did have to step in as Commander-in-Chief. As with G. W. Bush, Palin's anti-intellectualism and lack of formal legal training reinforce her contempt for constitutional limits. Despite her experience as a state governor, she might not even understand that the U.S. Constitution is the fundamental law of government in the U.S. and has to be obeyed no matter what.

The Bush administration's contempt for law which is reminiscent of the Third Reich and the fact that we now know Palin shares that contempt, should alarm all serious conservatives who insist on law-abiding government. Since Natalia Antonova has already discussed the parallels between the Nazis and the current GOP in her GC column "Lipstick and Lynch Mobs," I won't pursue it any further.

But, after eight years of anticonstitutional government under Bush, McCain's selection of someone like Palin as VP sends ominous signals about where the GOP is headed. Americans should pay attention to that and remember the historical precedents in Germany before World War II.

Thanks for an outstanding column and especially for emphasizing Palin's real attitude toward limited government.
