Not only does it imply difference, “tolerance” connotes privilege and oppression. MW’s definition of the word shows the dominance and hatred inherent in this language.

Tolerance:
1. capacity to endure pain or hardship.
2 a: sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one’s own
b: the act of allowing something.
3: the allowable deviation from a standard.

Uh, not sure if you have any control over this but the ad I see between the text and the comments says “treatment for homosexuals”. Thought I should point that out to you, just in case there is anything you can do about it.

Palin is a complete bigot. Of course she’s got a “lesbian friend”, it’s politically advantageous for her to say so.
