Interesting that the pastor at Woodland Hills Comm. Church co-wrote a book entitled "Language of Sex". I esp. don't care for preachers who think they should be writing marriage or sex manuals for couples. Somehow that kind of makes me think about Swaggart, Baker and those who tried to live above reproach only to fall farther than any of their parishioners.

I only have this to say to Kathryn Joyce; there's something you ought to know about the supposed "individuals" (really just one man) that run the blog Ministry Watchman, the sources for much of your criticism of Doug Phillips and Vision Forum Family Ministries. It can be found on this blog:

http://www.womensspace.org/phpBB2/2006/11/14/i-name-the-patriarchy-part-i-the-truth-about-full-quiver-women

Skip down to the comment by "Frank Vance" (comment 45) of the anti-Vision Forum website "Ministry Watchman", which is just the alias for tax protester and white nationalist Peter Kershaw of Heal Our Land Ministries, author of the infamous "Little Geneva" blog -with co-blogger Harry Seabrook. He says,

"We ourselves are a full quiver family (whatever that’s supposed mean). We home school, and I say “we” because it’s not all just dumped on my wife, although there’s no question but that she does an incredible job. My wife and daughters cook wonderful healthy meals, including baked goods and whole grain breads. We live rurally and we’re quasi-agrarian. I mentor my sons in how to be godly men that show honor and respect to women, and I do my best to model what it means to be a good and loving husband."

I've had the unfortunate mishap of knowing this fellow, and he's a short little man with a beard and 6 kids. He's as tyrannical and sociopathic as they come, and threw his wife of 23 years out on the street while telling his children that they couldn't see her. Her name is Cindy Kershaw. He had been going to a little church in Abingdon, VA that supports patriarchy and Vision Forum, pastored by Chori Jonathin Seraiah. He's also been seen with another woman, and has since relocated from Bristol, TN to Branson, MO, where he attends Woodland Hills Community Church. Look him up -he donated money to the Constitution Party, and Howard Phillips wrote the forward to his "book" against 501c3 church incorporation.

His entire vendetta against Doug Phillips started over a beef he had with another patriarch, R.C. Sproul Jr. If you spend enough time researching what Little Geneva had to say about Sproul Jr., you'll see that the entire sordid affair was over R.C. Sproul Jr. being a supporter of inter-racial marriage! That's why "Ministry Watchman" was started -to make sure these multi-cultural "race-mixers" were "held accountable" to racist standards of patriarchy.

I applaud you for your work exposing the madness of the patriarchy movement, but you need to check your sources a little more carefully next time. Peter Kershaw (a.k.a. "Frank Vance") is no ally to the sane people that oppose patriarchy/full quiver cult groups. He now accuses Jennifer Epstein, who is actually sane, of making a pass at him sexually while visiting he and his family, and has disassociated himself from everyone he knew. I would not trust him for as far as I could throw a rock.
