Thank you, Renee, for your attempt to treat this matter in a balanced, Christian, informed manner. Many of us know better than to attack the family and faith of others, especially right after a tragic death. I’m not surprised Roseanne Barr crawled out from under her rock to once again start spewing anti-Mormon rhetoric, nor that she is uninformed and biased about this case. She has a long history of that sort of thing, with those sorts of outbursts stemming from her admitted personality disorder. We should all pray that she will someday see the errors of such unkind abusiveness.

The boy was not homosexual. He had problems with depression. That crackhead Roseanne Barr needs to have her mouth glued shut. I get tired of these homonazi’s and their friends (like Roseanne) always trying to exploit things like this to their advantage.

The Mormon church is not the only religion that knows homo sexuality is wrong and sin. People read the Bible the WORD of God. God wiped out Sodom and Gomorrah because of homo sexuality. God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. God’s word says “if my people would humble them selves and repent I will heal their land”. We are commanded to love one another regardless of our sins and life styles. Sin is sin, just as stealing , adultery, etc. But we are not to condone it. I am disgusted with the homo sexuality constantly shoving it down our throats, keep your home life private. Marie loved her son and is a grieving mother, shame on any one to put guilt on her for standing up for righteousness even if it was her son, did not mean he was not loved unconditionally.

Although I agree with Roseanne and her somewhat abrasive and badly-timed comments against dangerous and homophobic religions, you points about depression are equally true.

Your piece was well-written, but I need to correct you on one point.

LDS Church doctrine does not consider same-sex attraction a sin. However, it does view sex outside the bonds of marriage to be sinful, whether that sex is heterosexual or homosexual.

Obviously, this leaves gay members wondering, “Well if I can’t get married, then what am I supposed to do?” Currently, the only options are marriage with the opposite sex or celibacy.
