Our understanding of ancient populations in the Amazon is changing. New research has discovered cities built at least 2500 years ago, hidden in what today belongs to the Ecuadorian jungle. The previously unknown civilization was found by a group of international scientists in the Upano region, according to the study published in the journal Science.
