What made you start this podcast?
I love podcast trailers and want to help people discover new shows!
I was on a road trip with a friend and we were trying to figure out what to listen to so we were browsing Apple Podcasts’ New & Noteworthy section, listening to each show’s trailer. We found that sometimes, the trailers didn’t accurately reflect the content of the show.
This got me thinking: how can a creator make a trailer that perfectly leads them to their ideal listener?
What have you learned about your subject thanks to this podcast?
That there’s an appetite for learning more about podcast trailers as a marketing tactic for podcast creators. And that people use podcast trailers as a tool for podcast discovery. And that making a show that features trailers from other creators is a great way to collaborate with folks in the audio space.
What has your experience of podcasting been? What do you love / hate about the process?
I’ve been working in the audio space since 2017, producing shows for folks since 2018, publishing a weekly show of my own since 2019, and have worked in various aspects of the industry along the way.
I love the flexibility of the medium. I love the collaborative nature of most audio creators. I wish listeners were more inclined to share feedback with the podcasts that they love.
If someone wants to start listening to your podcast, which episode would you recommend they start with? Why?
The trailer, of course! Since it’s a podcast about trailers, we put a lot of thought into the trailer!
