Welcome to our series of Podcast Showcases, where we share podcasts with you in the words of the podcasters themselves. This week, we feature 12 Minute Convos.
Sum up your podcast in three sentences
The vision of my podcast is S.U.N. & – Sharing Unique Narratives & F.U.N.- Fostering Unlimited networks. My mission for 2020 consists of
Building Bridges through meaningful conversations and Helping Others Pursue Excellence.
Who is your ideal listener? Who loves your show?
The person who desires to gain wisdom from the experiences of others. In my mind the person who is similar to me. I have a family and I am searching for a library of experiences to use what’s best BUT a library could be overwhelming. This person wants the most concise, dependable, relevant summary to be able to maximise on time given all of the other responsibilities.
Older folks seem to love my podcast more than younger. The seem to value the art of conversation a bit more.
What made you start this podcast?
Curiosity, if I did what Zig Ziglar spoke of by helping enough other people would my path would be clearer.
What have you learned about your subject thanks to this podcast?
My subject is Y.O.U.R.S. – Your Own Unique Real Self. I have learned that your story is enough to build your brand. Also I have recognised that even the best cannot see it all for themselves. If you are looking to perform optimally, you need the input of others who genuinely care about whatever that area of your life is that you may be having a challenge with. Accountability breeds Consistency. Consistency compounds substantial growth.
What has your experience of podcasting been? What do you love / hate about the process?
Life transformational. The impact has occurred across the board Mentally, Spiritually, Career, Physical, Personal, Financial, Family. Through this Business has been impacted as well. Hate is a strong word Philippa. I dislike the editing process as it slows time of release of #12minconvos. We are working to make the speed of interviewing coincide with the speed of releasing. Currently our bank of episodes are over 100 even though we are releasing 3 episodes, 5 days per week. I love the ability to train my listening skills. Podcasting has taught me how to listen, to listen deeply.
If someone wants to start listening to your podcast, which episode would you recommend they start with? Why?
Episode 1 then listen to my most recent episode. This hopefully will allow you to understand that you will get better so START!
Which other podcasts do you love listening to?
I listen to tons of podcasts in preparation for guests. I do not get to have a favorite at this time. A couple of years before I started my podcast I enjoyed listening to Dave Ramsey & Entreleadership.
