Dudes
Netflix | Season 1 | Release date: Thursday, October 2
Dudes, Netflix’s new German comedy series, promises to be a hilarious and brutally honest look at what it means to be a man today.
What happens when yesterday’s alpha males wake up in a world that no longer needs them? Ulf, Cem, Erik, and Andi, four lifelong friends, will have to find out the hard way.
The official Netflix synopsis reads as follows:
“What do you do when you’re suddenly no longer at the very top of the food chain? Four friends, all in their mid-40s, painfully realize that the world has moved on – but unfortunately without them. Yesterday alphas, today rather charming relics. Ulf’s job is replaced by a younger woman, Cem learns about the nasty surprises of modern dating, Erik’s girlfriend suddenly wants to open up their relationship and Andi gets pressured by his wife’s strong libido. The former alpha males see only one way out: a course to deconstruct male stereotypes. But applying what they have learned only makes things worse…”
Directed by Jan-Martin Scharf and Tobi Baumann, the comedy is inspired by the hit Spanish show Machos Alfa. Dudes reimagines the concept through a uniquely German lens, with sharp humor and a lot of heart.
The Last Frontier

In The Last Frontier, a federal transport full of convicts crashes two miles south of a small, peaceful town in Alaska, sparking a fast-paced chase. The 10-episode action series tells the story of Marshal Frank Remnick (Jason Clarke), who is nearing retirement when he suddenly finds himself tracking down all the fugitives and protecting his community. Meanwhile, the CIA rushes to get back on its feet before a much larger, chilling cover-up is exposed.
The first two episodes of The Last Frontier will be released on Friday, October 10. Following that, the episodes will air weekly every Friday, up until December 5.
Typhoon Family
Netflix | Season 1 | Release date: Saturday, October 11
Directed by Lee Na-jeong, Typhoon Family (태풍상사) is a drama series that explores the difficulties and transformations of young South Koreans who were thrust into adulthood due to the 1997 national financial crisis.
The talented Lee Jun-ho, who previously starred in the production King the Land, plays the wealthy Kang Tae-poong, known for his daring fashion sense and extravagant, carefree lifestyle. Tae-poong’s world is turned upside down when he unexpectedly becomes the CEO of a bankrupt trading company, forcing him to give up luxury for responsibility and face the realities of survival.
Tae-poong’s journey from his privileged youth to his reluctant presidency embodies the achievements of those ordinary heroes who moved forward with determination at a time when all seemed lost in the country.
“After King the Land, I’m thrilled to return with Typhoon Family. I hope this story brings laughter, comfort, and genuinely resonates with you. It’s about rising with those you love, finding strength in unexpected places, and reconnecting with times gone by. I can’t wait for you to experience the 90s nostalgia and emotional journey with us,” said Lee Jun-ho.
Nadie nos vio partir
Netflix | Season 1 | Release date: Wednesday, October 15
Filmed in Italy, France, South Africa, and Mexico, Nadie nos vio partir (No One Saw Us Leave) is a series inspired by a true story and the book of the same name by writer Tamara Trottner.
Starring Tessa Ía and Emiliano Zurita, the latest Mexican series Nadie nos vio partir arrives on Netflix on October 15 and follows a woman desperate to get her children back after they were taken from her by her own husband.
Set in the 1960s, the story follows the marriage of Leo and Valeria, children of two of Mexico’s wealthiest and most influential families. In the blink of an eye, they have two beautiful little ones and everything seems perfect.
However, when Leo begins to suspect that Valeria is unfaithful, he decides to take revenge by kidnapping his own children.
“The conflict is not only family-related, but behind it lies power, secrets, inheritance, and cultural tensions. It’s one of those series that sticks in your head and, honestly, you could watch it in a single night,” said the creators of the family drama.
What follows is a kind of odyssey in which Valeria must travel around the world, hire lawyers, and do everything possible to get her children back, while Leo manages to keep them away from her and make them believe that the sudden trip is some kind of adventure.
Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy
Peacock | Limited series | Release date: Thursday, October 16
Here’s a fall premiere that true crime fans won’t want to miss: Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy. Patrick Macmanus (Dr. Death) attempts to bring to life the story of one of America’s most infamous and feared serial killers.
Severance star Michael Chernus plays the series’ namesake killer in a drama that promises to depict not only Gacy’s chilling killing spree in the 1970s, but also the legal and law enforcement efforts that were undertaken to try to bring the so-called “killer clown” to trial.
Gabriel Luna, James Badge Dale, Marin Ireland, and Michael Angarano also star in the limited series.
IT: Welcome to Derry
HBO | Season 1 | Release date: Sunday, October 26
Since its publication in 1986, the novel IT became an instant hit, enjoying widespread support from generations of King fans. By 1990, the miniseries starring Tim Curry as the evil Pennywise became ABC’s biggest hit that year.
Now, the IT universe continues to expand with IT: Welcome to Derry, the upcoming prequel to Argentine director Andy Muschietti’s successful films based on King’s novel.
“It’s a book we love, and we feel there’s still a lot of story to tell,” said director Andy Muschietti, who returns to the saga, and his partner and sister, producer Barbara Muschietti. “It’s so rich in characters and events that we thought we would do justice to the book and the fans by returning to this world.”
Very little has been revealed about the plot of IT: Welcome to Derry. Stephen King never wrote a prequel to IT, so the story of the HBO series will be completely original. The only confirmed details are that it will contain the origin story of Pennywise and that it will be set in the 1960s.
“I’m excited that the story of Derry, Maine’s most haunted city, is continuing, and I’m glad Andy Muschietti is going to be overseeing the frightening festivities, along with a brain trust including his talented sister, Barbara. Red balloons all around!” Stephen King said in a statement.
Muschietti directs four of the nine episodes, including the premiere.
Juan Gabriel: Debo, Puedo y Quiero
Netflix | Season 1 | Release date: Thursday, October 30
Almost a decade after his death, Netflix pays tribute to Juan Gabriel with a documentary series that promises to bring audiences closer to the man behind the idol.
Entitled Juan Gabriel: Debo, Puedo y Quiero (Juan Gabriel: I Must, I Can, I Will), the production arrives on the platform on October 30 and offers an intimate and unprecedented journey through the life of Alberto Aguilera Valadez (Juan Gabriel’s real name).
Directed by María José Cuevas and produced by Laura Woldenberg and Ivonne Gutiérrez, the four-episode series portrays the singer’s career from its beginnings to his death. It should be noted that Juan Gabriel: Debo, Puedo y Quiero includes previously unseen material from Aguilera Valadez himself, who for years used a body camera to record emblematic moments of his personal and professional life. According to the production team, “the documentary offers unprecedented access to his life, his sensitivity, and his inexhaustible passion for living to create.”
For those unfamiliar with the artist, it is important to mention that “El divo de Juárez” received more than a thousand gold, platinum, and multi-platinum records throughout his career, was named Personality of the Year by the Latin Recording Academy in 2009, and he won twelve Billboard Artist of the Year awards.
His work encompasses more than 1,800 songs, the most famous of which have been translated into several languages, including English, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Japanese. To date, the singer-songwriter born in Parácuaro, Michoacán, on January 7, 1950, is the Mexican artist who has sold the most albums in the music industry, with 150 million copies.
