Against the backdrop of public scrutiny and personal history, their story unfolds into a surprising third chapter.”

Accidente (The Accident)

Netflix | Season 2 | Release date: Wednesday, December 10

Without much promotion or fanfare, Netflix’s Accidente (The Accident) skyrocketed to popularity after its premiere on August 21, 2024.

Created by Leonardo Padrón and directed by Gracia Querejeta and Klych López, the first season won over international audiences, debuting at number one on the global Top 10 list of non-English language series, with more than 10.4 million views during its premiere week. Now, the streaming giant has announced that the second season of the series will arrive on December 10, 2025.

For those who need a reminder, this suspenseful family drama centers on a tragic accident in which a bouncy castle causes the untimely death of three children and the distressing disappearance of another. The families’ grief spreads like wildfire, and everything becomes even more complicated when evidence emerges that perhaps it was not just a random act.

Padrón and his team have explained that “Accidente is mainly a pretext to explore what happens in families when tragedy strikes.”

Starring Alberto Guerra, Ana Claudia Talancón, Sebastián Martínez, and Eréndira Ibarra, Accidente returns with the aim of “healing wounds” and offering a conclusion to the stories that were left unfinished.
