Who is your ideal listener? Who loves your show?

Folks who want to make the lives of cats better in their homes and community. Individuals and small non-profit organizations who support Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) for Community Cats.

What made you start this podcast?

In 2016, my then 13 year old son suggested I start a podcast as I had just left a job running a cat organization (Mrfrs.org) for 20 years. I had a mentoring program that had 400 organizations on my waiting list and I wanted to offer them something to still be able to help them create TNR programs in their towns.

What have you learned about your subject thanks to this podcast?

I thought I would only be interviewing folks for about a year or so and I would run out of people to interview. I was so wrong… I meet so many folks who are really turning their passion for cats into action and making a difference.

The number of people involved helping cats is much higher than I ever anticipated.

What has your experience of podcasting been? What do you love / hate about the process?

I love batch recording. I love doing the interviews as I learn something new everyday. I really don’t hate anything about the process except maybe focusing on this as a business since it is also a passion project.

If someone wants to start listening to your podcast, which episode would you recommend they start with? Why?

Episode 435: Colony Caretaking Tips and Tricks Part 1. This is a great session about how to take care of cats in your community. It is a recording of a free webinar series that we offer in partnership with Neighborhood Cats during the year.

Which other podcasts do you love listening to?

Oh, there are so many. Arden Moore’s show- Oh Behave, The Two Crazy Cat Ladies, Hire the Smile, The Dr’s Farmacy, Just in Health are some of my “go to” podcasts.
