Many children in numerous countries are in the process of going back to school, tentatively, after a summer break. It’s both exciting and frightening for them and their families. At the same time, pressure to go back to the office for those who have been working from home is intensifying, while those who have never left their usual workplaces due to being essential workers are probably wondering what all the fuss is about! But the big question is about whether these steps, which feel essential in many ways but also quite risky, will lead to widespread second waves of coronavirus outbreaks.

In the meantime, we retreat to what is comfortable and comforting. And, for many, that is social media. It’s familiar, our friends are there, and people create content to distract us from the terrors of the world. Here are our picks from this week:
