How fast time goes by! It’s been a month since 2022 ended and we welcomed 2023, a year that promises all kinds of novelties in the fascinating world of audiovisual entertainment.
So you’re wondering what series you should watch in February? What are the most anticipated returns on the small screen?
The truth is, we have a lot to choose from.
In February, TV networks and streaming services will place big bets with premieres such as Hello Tomorrow! produced by Apple TV Plus and the long-awaited return of Carnival Row, which will be available on Prime Video. We will also see the fourth season of the controversial You and Christoph Waltz’s new series, The Consultant.

Not Dead Yet

ABC’s upcoming comedy is an adaptation of Alexandra Potter’s book Confessions of a 40-something F**k Up. The series comes from Casey Jonson and David Windsor, who serve as writers and executive producers. Other producers joining the project include Mary Viola, Corey Marsh and McG. Here’s everything revealed about the program so far:
Not Dead Yet follows the story of newly single Nell Stevens (Gina Rodriguez), who makes a desperate attempt to restart her life; after the failure of her romantic relationship, Nell decides to move back to her hometown of Pasadena and pick up where she left off. However, Nell Stevens’ life takes a new turn when she realizes that she can suddenly contact ghosts.
ABC has posted the following description of the series on its website:
“Not Dead Yet follows Nell Stevens a broke and newly single self-described disaster, working to restart the life and career she left behind 10 years ago. When she lands the only job she can find – writing obituaries, Nell starts getting life advice from an unlikely source.”
Gina Rodriguez is best known for her starring role on The CW’s Jane the Virgin. Her other television work includes Carmen Sandiego, Diary of a Future President, Big Mouth, and Elena of Avalor. Not Dead Yet also stars Hannah Simone, Lauren Ash, Rick Glassman, Joshua Banday, Angela Gibbs, among others.

You is a psychological thriller based on the books by Caroline Kepnes. This fiction follows the life of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), an obsessive and resourceful man who takes advantage of digital media to conquer the woman of his dreams and get everything he wants. The series quickly darkens as murders and other mysteries emerge.
Filming for the fourth season of You began on March 21, 2022 in London and wrapped on August 27, 2022. In this regard, Penn Badgley, the star of the show has commented: “The next season could be quite different… I don’t know, but I think it might be more about Joe’s relationship with himself.”
The official synopsis of the fourth installment has not yet been released, but thanks to the teaser we can get a general idea of the plot. In this new season, Joe Goldberg finds himself in London with a new identity. He has now become a charismatic professor and calls himself Jonathan Moore. This time, Joe only wants to focus on the academic world. However, knowing his obsessions and demons, it can be inferred that problems will not be long in coming.
This new installment will be released on Netflix in two parts. The premiere of the first part will be on February 9, 2023, while the premiere of the second part will be on March 10, 2023.
To date, the show has been nominated for several awards, including the Saturn Award for Best Streaming Horror & Thriller Series, the MTV Movie & TV Awards for Best Villain, and more.
Carnival Row
Prime Video | Season 2 | Release date: Friday, Feb. 17
After a long wait, fans of the show are celebrating the arrival of the second season on February 17, 2023.
As for the first season, Carnival Row is set in a Victorian fantasy world torn apart by war and race division. Overall, the story reflects the social conflict in the city of La Burgue and the tensions that exist between humans and magical creatures; this show is based on the screenplay of Travis Beacham’s A Killing on Carnival Row.
It can be assumed that in the second season, the political and social tensions will be exacerbated. Most likely, the plot will focus on the fae uprising against their oppressors. The new season is expected to raise the bar for this dark fantasy in terms of intrigue and action.
The second installment will consist of ten episodes to be released weekly; returning cast members include: Cara Delevingne, Orlando Bloom, David Gyasi, Simon McBurney, Tamzin Merchant, Arty Froushan, Caroline Ford, Karla Crome, and Andrew Gower.
Prime Video’s fantasy series will have major changes behind the camera. First season showrunner Marc Guggenheim will not return for the second season. In his place, Erik Oleson will join the team. In addition, series co-creator Travis Beacham will not continue with the project, citing creative differences. Given these changes, it is likely that the new season will have a different feel to what has been seen.
As reported by Deadline, the show has not been renewed for a third installment.
Hello Tomorrow!
Apple TV Plus | Season 1 | Release date: Friday, Feb. 17
The upcoming Apple TV Plus series Hello Tomorrow! starring by Billy Crudup, will premiere on Friday, February 17.
Co-created by Amit Bhalla and Lucas Jansen, Hello Tomorrow! is set in a retro-futuristic world similar to The Jetsons, with robots helping with household chores. The official description of this program states the following:
“Set in a retro-future world, Hello Tomorrow! centers around a group of traveling salesmen hawking lunar timeshares. Billy Crudup stars as Jack, a salesman of great talent and ambition, whose unshakeable faith in a brighter tomorrow inspires his coworkers, revitalizes his desperate customers, but threatens to leave him dangerously lost in the very dream that sustains him”.
In addition to Emmy winner Billy Crudup, the cast of Hello Tomorrow! also includes Haneefah Wood, Alison Pill, Nicholas Podany, Dewshane Williams, Matthew Maher, Hank Azaria, and Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver.
The first season of Hello Tomorrow! consists of 10 half-hour episodes. During the launch, the first three episodes will air, followed by a new episode each week.
Crudup is known for starring in many high-profile movies, including Mission: Impossible III, Almost Famous, Jackie, and Alien: Covenant, Watchmen. His TV work includes the role of Cory Ellison on The Morning Show.
The Consultant
Amazon Prime Video | Season 1 | Release date: Friday, Feb. 24
The Consultant is based on the 2015 book of the same name by veteran author Bentley Little. Amazon Studio has described the program as: “a twisted, comedic-thriller series that explores the sinister relationship between boss and employee”.
The eight-episode miniseries revolves around Regus Patoff (Christoph Waltz), a peculiar and aggressive consultant who is hired to optimize professional performance at the gaming company CompWare.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
“When a new consultant, Regus Patoff, is hired to improve the business at the App-based gaming company CompWare, employees experience new demands and challenges that put everything into question … including their lives.”
The talented Christoph Waltz stars in The Consultant. The rest of the main cast includes Nat Wolff, Brittany O’Grady and Aimee Carrero.
The Consultant is produced by Amazon Studios and MGM Television. Creator and showrunner Tony Basgallop is executive producing alongside Christoph Waltz, Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman and Matt Shakman.
