Headphones

Welcome to the next in the Podcast Showcase series, where we share podcasts with you in the words of the podcasters themselves. This time, we talk to The Declutter Hub.

Sum up your podcast in three sentences

If you feel overwhelmed with clutter in your home, this is the podcast for you. Weekly episodes delve into the nitty gritty of clutter, the emotions that hold us back from learning to let go of stuff and live with less. Ingrid and Lesley bring the fun factor into the serious world of decluttering.

Anyone who longs for a home they want to be in and feel proud of without being overwhelmed with clutter day in day out.

Our superfans tell us they feel like they have two best friends decluttering alongside them and that’s what it’s all about. If people find the process fun, they’ll stick at it!

What made you start this podcast?

As two UK Professional Organisers we wanted to share our emotionally led approach to decluttering far and wide. So many people focus way too much on the stuff. We take people back to basics and break down the tricky process of decluttering and organising.

Our listeners experience lightbulb moments and enjoy discovering what emotions and habits hold them back.

What have you learned about your subject thanks to this podcast?

We have learnt that clutter has no boundaries. Whatever your personal situation, wherever you live and however life has treated you,  your emotional connection to stuff will have played a part in your life.

What has your experience of podcasting been? What do you love / hate about the process?

It has been hugely positive. What could be better than connecting with and helping people all over the world? We love the planning and the podcasting itself but loathe the tech that goes along with it. Thankfully we can outsource it now.

If someone wants to start listening to your podcast, which episode would you recommend they start with? Why?

We would recommend episode 150 – busting the decluttering myths. Our most popular episode ever and one where we focus on the decluttering methods we may have used in the past and why they may not have worked.

Which other podcasts do you love listening to?

Happy Place with Fearne Cotton, Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness and Feel Better, Live More with Dr Rangan Chatterjee.
