Here’s a look at the titles and dates to keep in mind this March:

Alert: Missing Persons Unit

Fox / Hulu | Season 2 | Release date: Tuesday, March 5

In January 2023, the first season of Alert: Missing Persons Unit became one of Fox’s top procedural dramas, receiving  acclaim from critics and viewers alike. Not surprisingly, after the show’s victorious premiere, it was quickly renewed for a second installment.

Created by John Eisendrath and Jamie Foxx, this crime drama follows Jason Grant (Scott Caan) and Captain Nikki Batista (Dania Ramirez) as they investigate cases for the Missing Persons Unit (MPU), while trying to find out the truth about their son’s whereabouts. In each episode, Alert: Missing Persons Unit tells an independent storyline about a possible victim.

The synopsis and description of the new season have not been shared yet. However, after the end of the first season, showrunner John Eisendarth spoke with Deadline, and noted the following about the future of the fiction:

“There’s definitely going to be a serialized component, a story for their family and their relationship that I have in mind for next year. It will be different, but I’m hopeful that every season could have a contained, mysterious, serialized story. That goes alongside the endless numbers of missing persons cases. There’s all kinds of personal stories that I am looking forward to, like exploring the love triangle between Jason and Nikki and Mike…”

The second installment of Alert: Missing Persons Unit premieres Tuesday, March 5 on Fox. New episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day; Variety reports that Carla Kettner, known for her work on Bones and The Blacklist, will join the second season as showrunner.

The synopsis adds “the series portrays a fictional past, present and future wherein Earth encounters an alien civilization from a nearby system of three sun-like stars orbiting one another, in an example of the three-body problem in orbital mechanics.”
