The best TV and streaming premieres: November 2026

It’s that time of the month again when we tell you which shows you can’t miss on streaming platforms and TV networks. The upcoming releases promise to captivate audiences from start to finish, featuring intense thrillers, fascinating science fiction projects, and international adaptations that are generating the most buzz this season.

This month’s new releases on Prime Video kick off with the premiere of Campus Drivers, a French romantic comedy based on the novels by C.S. Quill that explores the dynamics of “living together under mandatory circumstances”. Joining this is the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which premieres next Wednesday, November 11, directed by Charlotte Brändström, Sanaa Hamri, and Stefan Schwartz. Later, the platform will add Blade Runner 2099 to its catalog, a dystopian sci-fi miniseries that continues the timeline of the original franchise in the city of Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, some of Netflix’s best releases for November explore themes of institutional and criminal intrigue. First up is the legal thriller La Ley de Alicia (Alicia’s Law), the Mexican adaptation of the acclaimed U.S. series The Good Wife. The platform’s lineup also includes The Altruists, a biographical miniseries structured as a thriller that chronicles a real-life financial fraud committed through a cryptocurrency platform.

Last but not least, Max is adding the second season of  Cidade de Deus: A Luta Não Para (City of God: The Fight Rages On) to its repertoire. In this new season, the Brazilian series delves deeper into territorial tensions through a storyline that weaves together local resistance movements, musical expression, and the region’s internal politics.

Without further ado, enjoy TV in November 2026!

Campus Drivers

Prime Video | Premiere Season | Release date: Friday, November 6

Genre: College romance, Young adult fiction

Based on the best-selling book series by author C.S. Quill, the series’ debut adapts the first book, titled Fast Lane. This French production — perfect for filling the void left by the successful and well-made Off Campus — is directed by Tom Goris and Vianney Lebasque (based on a concept by Thomas Boullé).

According to the Prime Video synopsis:

“The story is set at the fictional University of Belrose and centers on Lois Hogan (Carmen Kassovitz), who follows her longtime boyfriend, Max, to campus. However, when Max breaks her heart, her path crosses that of Lane O’Neill (Baptiste Masseline), the reserved, popular “bad boy” on campus who also runs a famous ride-sharing app. With nowhere else to go, Lane offers Lois a place on his couch; forced to become roommates, the mutual attraction between these polar opposites becomes impossible to ignore.”

Get ready for a binge-watch, because all the episodes of the season will premiere on November 6, exclusively on Prime Video.

Cidade de Deus: A Luta Não Para (City of God: The Fight Rages On)

Max | Season: 2 | Release date: Sunday, November 8

Genre: Crime drama, Action, Thriller

On November 8, Max premieres the second season of Cidade de Deus: A Luta Não Para (City of God: The Fight Rages On). Produced by O2 Filmes, it serves as a direct sequel to the acclaimed 2002 Brazilian feature film Cidade de Deus (City of God).

Over the course of six episodes, the series — directed by Aly Muritiba and produced by Andrea Barata Ribeiro and Fernando Meirelles —examines the impact of foreign political alliances, institutional corruption, and the rise of paramilitary groups on the community’s daily life. The plot highlights the vulnerability of the locals and raises a key question: Who really controls the territory?

According to the official statement:

“Following the death of drug trafficker Curió, a violent struggle for control of the territory erupts. Amid the power struggle, newly elected councilwoman Berenice (Roberta Rodrigues) faces political corruption and the growing influence of militias, while Jerusa (Andréia Horta), a lawyer haunted by her past, seeks revenge against those responsible for destroying her family. For her part, Leka (Luellem de Castro) turns to culture, funk music, and dance parties to inspire unity, resilience, and hope among the residents.”

Muritiba and the show’s producers have explained that the season’s main goal is to consolidate the favela universe with greater narrative maturity and a much more ambitious production scale, approaching the level of an “urban blockbuster.”

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Prime Video | Season:3 | Release date: Wednesday, November 11

Genre: Epic Fantasy, Adventure, Drama

The third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on Prime Video next Wednesday, November 11. With a total of eight episodes, this season is directed by Charlotte Brändström, Sanaa Hamri, and Stefan Schwartz.

The story is set five years after the fall of Eregion and chronicles the beginning of open war against Sauron, who is working from Barad-dûr to consolidate his ultimate dominion by forging the One Ring. As the military conflict spreads across Middle-earth, the series details the isolation of the dwarves in the depths of Khazad-dûm, the internal political instability in Númenor, and Gandalf’s journey to stem the advance of darkness.

The streaming service will release the first four episodes on the premiere date, followed by double episodes until the series concludes on November 25.

La Ley de Alicia (Alicia’s Law)

Netflix | Premiere Season | Release date: Wednesday, November 11

Genre: Legal drama, Family drama

In the coming weeks, Netflix will premiere La Ley de Alicia (Alicia’s Law), the Mexican adaptation of the hit American legal drama The Good Wife, starring Fernanda Castillo, Juan Manuel Bernal, and Michel Brown. Just like in the original series, the story focuses on the transformation of a woman who goes from being “a politician’s docile wife” to an independent professional who challenges the monopoly on power and suffocating social expectations.

La Ley de Alicia depicts the collapse of Alicia’s world when her husband Aurelio, a Supreme Court justice, is imprisoned due to a massive scandal involving institutional corruption and explicit sexual conduct. With two children in her care and the urgent need to pay off the family’s debts, the protagonist is forced to restart her career as a criminal defense attorney after spending twenty years away from the courts.

Through the legal cases, the series reflects the complex dynamics of the judicial system in Mexico and shows that the laws often do not seek moral truth, but rather operate under the influence of political and corporate interests—as well as the system’s own loopholes.

The Altruists

Netflix | Premiere Season | Release date: Thursday, November 19

Genre: Crime drama, Financial thriller, Biopic

The Altruists, Netflix’s highly anticipated financial thriller miniseries, is directed by James Ponsoldt and written by Jacqueline Hoyt alongside its creator and co-showrunner, Oscar winner Graham Moore.

The series portrays the true story of Sam Bankman-Fried (Anthony Boyle) and Caroline Ellison (Julia Garner), two graduates of MIT and Stanford who went from leading a charitable financial initiative to being at the center of one of the biggest frauds in history. The series details their rapid rise in the digital assets business and their subsequent arrest in 2022, when the misuse of their clients’ funds led to the collapse of their FTX platform, wiping out the savings of thousands of investors and sending both of them to prison.

Here’s the official logline provided by Netflix:

“The story of Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, two hyper-smart, ambitious young idealists who tried to remake the global financial system in the blink of an eye – before they were accused of stealing $8 billion and became Gen Z’s own Bonnie & Clyde.”

Based on investigative articles in New York Magazine written by journalists Kevin T. Dugan and Jen Wieczner, the eight episodes of this limited miniseries will premiere exclusively on Thursday, November 19.

Blade Runner 2099

Prime Video | Premiere Season | Release date: Wednesday, November 25

Genre: Dystopian science fiction, Thriller, Neo-noir

Based on Philip K. Dick’s celebrated 1968 novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, this new Prime Video production is a direct continuation of the acclaimed films by Ridley Scott and Denis Villeneuve.

According to the synopsis:

“Set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the narrative unfolds in a reborn Los Angeles where replicants have risen to become the dominant species. The story follows human fugitive Cora (Hunter Schafer), who adopts the identity of a Blade Runner to secure a future for her brother. She is forced into an unlikely partnership with Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), an aging replicant Blade Runner facing the final days of her lifespan. Together, they are drawn into a widening conspiracy and hunt a runaway hiding a truth that could cause their fragile city to collapse.”

This paradigm shift is accompanied by a visual and atmospheric style completely different from the rainy dystopia we were used to. Showrunner Silka Luisa revealed the concept behind this evolution to Empire: “The idea here is that we’re doing sunshine noir… The show is really about a city coming back to life, a rebirth. So it’s hot and sticky and chaotic.”

The eight episodes of the miniseries will arrive on Prime Video on Wednesday, November 25, just in time for a Thanksgiving weekend binge-watch.
