Who is your ideal listener? Who loves your show?

Podcast Showcase: Fix It Home Improvement

Homeowners who are interested in doing their own projects or want a starting point for their own research.

What made you start this podcast?

I was a real-estate investor for years, remodeling and renting homes. My co-host Cindy and I both worked and owned hardware stores for years, helping customers and training employees.

We started the Fix It Home Improvement Channel on YouTube to help train our employees and answer customers’ questions. We write a series of e-books on Amazon called Home Improvement Solutions: What Every Homeowner Should Know.

The podcast is a great way to share our knowledge with our listeners who are just starting out with their first home, love home-repair projects or want to learn more about a specific product or project.

What have you learned about your subject thanks to this podcast?

We have been able to expand our knowledge from working with companies helping us with episodes. We’ve learned a lot about new codes, products and services. Each week, we cover a new topic.

What has your experience of podcasting been? What do you love / hate about the process?

I really love researching each topic as does Cindy. But the podcast takes much longer than I ever thought it would to write, record and edit. This will be our eighth year podcasting.

It’s been a learning process to find the right placement of the microphone, how fast to speak, volume levels, etc.

If someone wants to start listening to your podcast, which episode would you recommend they start with? Why?

The great thing about our podcast is you can start with any one that interests you. The episode title says it all! If you want to learn about light bulbs, for example, you can listen to our Light Bulbs or Speciality Light Bulb episodes.

Which other podcasts do you love listening to?

Cindy and I both love Attaboy Clarence, Secret History Of Hollywood, Underwood and Flinch, The Feed, and Glow In The Dark Radio to name a few.

If people want to find you online, where can they do so?
