Welcome to the next in the Podcast Showcase series, where we share podcasts with you in the words of the podcasters themselves. This time, we talk to Rebel Uprising.

Sum up your podcast in three sentences

The Rebel Uprising podcast is dedicated to helping passionate business owners become recognized leaders who make more money and impact the world by turning their messy, complicated ideas into thriving thought leadership businesses. I’m Dr. Michelle Mazur and I’ll be your no-bs guide in the art of being seen. Each week, I  share strategies, tools, and insights on how to turn your complicated ideas into great messaging and solid business structures.

Who is your ideal listener? Who loves your show?

My ideal listener is a coach, consultant, or a service based business owner. Typically, she’s doing something a little different than the rest of her industry, and that makes it hard to talk about. She’s usually been in business for 2+ years. She followed the celebrity entrepreneurs and tried their marketing techniques, built the funnel, and experimented with marketing formulas. It didn’t work for her but she realized it was not how she wanted to market her business. She’s looking for an alternative way to her get her ideas known and become the go-to authority in her niche.

What made you start this podcast?

I love speaking. I’ve got decades of experience on stage. When I was thinking of creating content that my audience can learn from podcasting was a natural fit that drew upon my strengths.

What have you learned about your subject thanks to this podcast?

This podcast helped me develop my 3 Word Rebellion messaging framework which is about creating a one-of-a-kind message that turns strangers into clients so that your audience and business grows. I’m not afraid to bring my messy ideas to my listeners and get their feedback to develop the idea. It’s what makes podcasting fun for me.

What has your experience of podcasting been? What do you love / hate about the process?

From the moment, I started this podcast I knew exactly what tasks I didn’t want to do. I didn’t want to edit my show or do any of the backend work. I just wanted to script and record the show. I hired a team to do the rest. The podcast has been a complete joy for me.

If someone wants to start listening to your podcast, which episode would you recommend they start with? Why?

I’d recommend the 8 Jobs Your Message does for Your Business. Messaging is such a foundational piece of your business and most people who teach business skip right over it. They assume you know what your message is. It’s way more strategic than making it up as you go along if you want to sell what you do. Your message is the hardest worker bee in your business so you need to understand all that it does for your business.
