Podcast Showcase: The Found Generation with Troy Farkas

The Found Generation with Troy Farkas

Welcome to the next in the Podcast Showcase series, where we share podcasts with you in the words of the podcasters themselves. This time, we talk to The Found Generation with Troy Farkas.

Sum up your podcast in three sentences

In conversations with friends, colleagues, and people he comes across, Spotify podcast producer and self-help writer Troy Farkas covers topics like physical and mental health, career mobility, social media, traveling, and how to live the best life possible.

Who is your ideal listener? Who loves your show?

A person in their 20s who is introspective and very curious about what it takes to live a meaningful life.

What made you start this podcast?

It was the early days of Covid and I just really missed talking to people!

It started out as just a way to catch up with people I know but then it became about connecting with and learning from other people in the hopes of inspiring others.

Plus, I really enjoy evolving the podcast as consumption habits evolve too.

What have you learned about your subject thanks to this podcast?

That way more people struggle with the things I struggle with.

Many young people deal with anxiety and this constant internal questioning and doubting I also face.

Sometimes, I feel like I am getting judged for not having all of my sh*t figured out, but then I talk to my guests and I realize they’re just as lost as me! We’re all just figuring it out.

What has your experience of podcasting been? What do you love / hate about the process?

LOVE – having the conversations, making social media clips, interacting with listeners off-platform, and LEARNING!

HATE – adhering to deadlines, seeing poor download performance, editing the video for YouTube and dealing with YouTube’s ever-changing algorithms.

If someone wants to start listening to your podcast, which episode would you recommend they start with? Why?

My conversation with my yoga teacher, Jessica Lescrinier.

It’s a very raw, open, and honest conversation about eating disorders and breakups. Jessica’s wisdom left my jaw on the floor.

Which other podcasts do you love listening to?

Call Her Daddy, The Joe Rogan Experience, How I Built This, The Daily Stoic, History Daily, Armchair Expert, Diary of a CEO.

If people want to find you online, where can they do so?
